Stress is such a huge problem in this modern world, so learning to deal with it in a helpful way is essential if we want to be happy in life. There appear to be so many problems in the world and so much stress that at times it feels impossible to avoid it. Our jobs, family life and even our social life are now more stressful than ever before. We have more expectations placed upon us to push ourselves, achieve more and keep busy. No wonder so many of us are off work with ill health, depression, anxiety and stress. Something needs to change.

In recent years our knowledge of modern technology has increased considerably and as a result we have witnessed remarkable material progress, but there has not been a corresponding increase in human happiness. There is no less suffering in the world today and there are no fewer problems. In fact, this material progress has brought a lot of problems with it. If the solution to our problems were to be found in the external world then it would make sense that the more we advance externally the fewer problems and less stress we would experience but it’s clear to see this isn’t happening. Why is this? Anxiety, stress, depression and low self-esteem are states of mind, so the real solution to solving them must lie within the mind not in external sources.

On this course we can learn how to make our mind more resilient and deeply peaceful. By training our mind we can overcome stress and remain happy no matter what difficulties life throws at us.
