PRAYERS FOR WORLD PEACE
The end of the year is a time when we look back and reflect on the events of the year. The last few years have seen the world change dramatically, often for the worse. There have been many natural disasters, wars and acts of terrorism. Each year the world becomes a more frightening place to live in.
However we mustn’t forget that there is also a lot of good in the world. Everyday people show extraordinary kindness to others. Mothers putting their children’s happiness before their own, people helping their friends – worrying about them and consoling them when they are sad. If we are to have world peace we need to remember the good in the world because this is the foundation from which world peace will grow.
Odiyana Centre is hosting an evening event – ‘Prayers for World Peace’ at Odiyana Kadampa Meditation Centre, 163 Chester Road, Northwich on New Years Eve.
The evening begins at 8pm with hot punch (non-alcoholic) and vegetarian buffet. This will be followed by a teaching and meditation on how it is possible to achieve peace throughout our world. The teaching and meditation will be given by Buddhist nun, Kelsang Dema. After this there will be a short break and refreshments, with time to chat and meet like minded people. We will see in the New Year with a candle lit vigil dedicated for world peace and happiness.
Tickets are £25 per person and need to be booked in advance.
